Hand Made Curtains

I have looked for months through all the country magazines to find the perfect curtains for my Americana living room. I would find one and then think about it and find another one. Then I would think about it some more. I would always want two different elements from two different sets of curtians.

Did I want valances or long curtains? I wanted one and my husband preferred the other.

So, I found a solution. I'm going to make my curtians. I think I've made every pair of curtains that have been in my home. Either that or I got them at a yard sale!!

So, we're going to have long curtains with a valance at the top. They're going to be small checks, maroon and 'dirty' white and I'm going to applique dark blue stars on them.

Once I get them done I'll post a picture on my blog.

I'm going to make curtains for my daughters room too but they're not country! They will be a neon flower pattern. She picked it out. It won't be country but it will be cute for her.

Does anyone else make their own curtains? Why do you make them? Is it the cost? Is it the style that you can't find, like me?

Thanks for stopping by the country.
